How to change your wordpress theme
->
Many people today use Wordpress as a ready2Go system. Because Wordpress is so easy to use and because it is a well ranking system on Google or any other search engines, many people prefer it over many other systems.
On this article I will explain how to change your Wordpress theme.
First you need to download a theme you want to use. If you already don’t have one, you can go to the Wordpress website and get one or just Google “Wordpress Themes” and download from a third party website.
After you download the theme you need to extract it from the ZIP file. Many of you probably know how to do so already.
After these major steps you need to go to your FTP and open your Wordpress directory. In your directory, go to WP-Content folder, and then open the Themes folder. Transfer your files to the Themes folder. After you are done transfering, go to your Wordpress Administration Panel.
In the administration panel go to the Appearance section and click on Themes. After this is very simple, just click on the theme you want to use, it will give lightbox of what your website will look like with that theme, on the top right-hand corner click Activate.
An that is how you change your Wordpress theme.
How to edit Html in Blogger
->
Many bloggers wonder if they can actually edit the source HTML code of their Blogger blogs. Well, to the ones out there waiting for an answer, my answer is YES, absolutely you can.
All you have to do is:
Login to your account.
Go to the Layout tab.
Click “Edit Html”
..and there you go, now you can put in any kind of Html code you want to add to your blog. One of Blogger’s nice compabilities is that you don’t need to know Html coding skills to edit it. You can use their editor and still add Html codes through the editor. The best thing about this is that you can drag and drop things and customize your blog.
How to Create a Blog
->
These days, many people have blogs including students, housewives, business managers anykind of people you can ever imagine.
There are many reasons for these cause. Numerous number of websites give away free blog services. Not only that, it is very easy to create and keep up with it. You can put any kind of content you want in the blog.
Blogger
Blogger.com is one of the best blog services around. You can sign up and get your name right away for free in the form of your-blog-name.blogspot.com It has everything you need built in. You can even email content to your blogger and it will automatically post it for you.
You might be thinking: If I can send email why not just login and write the content on blogger.com? Well the answer is so simple. Today’s technology allows you to email from many other systems other than a computer. You can send an email right from your cellphone and it can be published in your website in seconds.
Blogger.com has very easy to use html editor and content manager. The widgets it allows you to use is very rich. Oooops, I almost forgot to mention that Blogger.com is owned by Google, Inc.
Wordpress Blogs
Wordpress.com a legend in my eyes. You can register for free and have a name either your-blog-name.wordpress.com or you can download the system and setup on your own host and have your web adress your-domain-name.com
There are many templates for this system out there that can be used for anything from photography to house-keeping.
The most important thing about this website is that it is written in PHP coding language and its supported by Google, Inc. It’s built in SEO system is so great. You can get better search engine results with this system.
But the best thing about this system is that it is very easy to customize. You customize anything from your page adresses to your blog right from your admin panel.
These are just the best 2 blog services in my eyes. There are many, many websites out there that gives free blog services that you can create a blog with. Click Wordpress or Blogger? Which is Best? if you can’t decide Blogger or Wordpress to use.
Using Html Templates
If you don’t have enough time to code a whole new system or a website for your content, then you might be interested in HTML templates that are providing online. You can find so many Free Html Templates on the web, but there is many out there that is for purchase that is great with compability with search engines and have better designs.
Free Html Templates
Many people look into this one because it’s free “Free” and there is many websites out there that is ready to let you download them for free right this second.
But…. remember that you are not the only one downloading that template. There is many other people that is looking for free templates aswell. Imagine that 100s of other people use the same template as you do. Maybe you won’t have a problem but the search engines and your ranking will.
The search engine robots will see that the 100s of websites out there use the same Html code in their source and have the same grafics with the same codes.
This is not the factor all the time ! ! ! Do not think using these templates will have your website sink at search engines.
You might think: it doesn’t make sense because millions of people use Wordpress, Joobla, vBulletin ect. and they ahve success. You might be thinking right, but remember the makers of those systems earn so much money online and have the ability to make those systems so SEO friendly. An example would be Wordpress. Don’t ever think those people who allow you to download some basic HTML template worked on those templates for days to make it so compatible with search engines ect.
Paid Html Templates
I really don’t have an idea about these templates because I have never paid and bought one before. But my thought is that not so many people buy these templates. They might be so well done in design ect. but I don’t think that they have a difference than free html templates.
So my overall point is that AVOID USING THESE templates.
…and ever if you use them, try editing them so much and make it unique to yourself.
WordPress or Blogger? Which is Best?
WordPress and Blogger are hands down the two most popular blogging platforms. I honestly see no reason to consider any of the others.
I started with Blogger, but when I started learning about the flexibility WordPress provided, also how it gets good search engine results, I switched over to Wordpress. Now I have couple websites that reiceive over 50 thousand visitors a month.
Blogger is great because it’s super easy to use. However, WordPress has a lot more features and plug-ins that will allow you to enhance your blog.
And even though setting up a WordPress blog is slightly more involved, it’s well worth it in the long run.
